Change for the People
In 2003 a young woman named Kamala Harris ran for District Attorney of San Francisco. She was a huge underdog against the the incumbent District Attorney. Kamala initially polled at 6% and was given no chance. She defied the odds to win and become the first black female District Attorney of San Francisco.
Kamala was able to win by campaigning on her For the People model. This campaign model emphasizes people power, political organizing, community empowerment, diversity, equity & inclusion, storytelling and voter education.
Kamala Harris fought to create a lasting legacy of change in America. Change for the People continues her work across the country.
