
Between 2012 and 2018,there were 1,688 polling place closures enacted by Republican election officials in red states.

13 states have passed 50 new election bills that make it harder to vote after the 2020 election.
At least 250 new laws have passed have been proposed in 43 states to limit mail early in person and election day voting.
Polling locations closed in Texas (–750), Arizona (–320), and Georgia (–214). Quieter efforts to reduce the number of polling places without clear notice or justification spread throughout Louisiana (–126), Mississippi (–96), Alabama (–72), and North Carolina (–29) .

Brian Kemp as SOS closed 214 polling locations in Georgia. 53,000 voter registrations in Gwinnett County were put on hold
a few weeks before the 2018 election. 70% of the voters were black, despite the state only being around 30%. Kemp canceled 1.4 million voter registrations. He won by 55,000 votes. It’s now illegal to give away food and water in line to voters in Georgia.

A GOP group in NC targeted black voters and attempted to purge 6,700 voters in2016. They attempted to kick off voters if they didn’t respond to a letter. A 100-year-old African American woman was purged for not responding.
A federal judge reversed it and called it modern day Jim Crow.
The Democratic Governor won by less than 10,000 votes.

•Governor Greg Abbott signs an executive order limiting one drop box per county. Harris County now has one drop box for 4.7 million voters.
•The Texas Republican legislature passes and a bill that makes it a felony for a public official to send someone a mail-in ballot application the person did not request, or to pre-fill any part of any mail-in ballot application they are sending to someone.
It also bans drive thru voting and 24-hour voting.
